Saddle pads make it easier to fit your saddle. If your horse changes, you can use a few pads to shift the center of gravity, such as pads with inserts that are placed into the various pockets, or simply gel pads that are raised at the front or back. In addition, many professionals, like Charlotte Dujardin, swear by the shock-absorbing properties of gel pads under the saddle.
