What is a rotational fall?
A rotational fall (also known as an over-the-shoulder fall) is considered the most dangerous fall in equestrian sports — especially in eventing. The horse's front hoof gets caught on a solid obstacle and it flips forward. The rider remains in the saddle almost until impact — the horse falls on top of them.
Why wired vests inherently fail:
The rider does not separate from the horse — the cable does not get pulled. The vest does not deploy. This design flaw cannot be corrected.
